Specifies the basic requirements for anaesthetic machines and associated components up to and including the fresh (common) gas outlet, for use with humans. Requirements are also included for anaesthetic vaporizers intended for incorporation into anaesthetic machines. Does not apply to intermittent-flow anaesthetic machines which deliver gas to the breathing system at varying rates in response to the patient's inspiratory efforts, and to dental nitrous oxide-oxygen analgesia machines. This Standard is based on ISO 5358:1992.
